Peninsula Marina is a 264-slip marina on Barren River Lake near Glasgow, Kentucky. It sits two miles from Barren River Dam, reached from Highway 252 by way of Highway 2065. Most of what happens here revolves around the boats kept in our slips, and the marina is set up for people who come out often and like a familiar dock.
Seasonal open slips are offered at 10×16 and 10×20. Annual covered slips range from 10×24 to 18×50, while the annual open slips come in 10×30 and 20×70. Jet ports hold personal watercraft. On shore there are separate men’s and women’s restrooms, pumps that sell fuel with no ethanol, and a well-stocked store.
The docks are kept clean and in good repair, and the staff take time to learn who you are. That matters more than it sounds. When your boat sits in a slip all season, you want people around it who notice if a line has worked loose.
The marina has a long history on the lake. It opened as Sawyer Landing in 1992, became Peninsula Marina under Tim and Marty Craycroft in 2004, and has belonged to the Rubright family since 2019.
Barren River Lake is one of the Kentucky lakes built and managed by the Corps of Engineers. Much of its shoreline is wooded, and its coves and creek arms make it a good lake for fishing and for finding a quiet spot to anchor. For owners in Glasgow KY, the drive out is short enough for an evening on the water after work.
The marina is within reach of Glasgow, Bowling Green and the smaller towns of Barren County. Highway 252 brings you most of the way, and Highway 2065 takes you to the marina.
A search for boat slips near me or marinas near me will list several options around the lake. If you want a slip where your boat is looked after and the staff know your name, come and see ours. Bring your boat’s length and beam, and ask the team to show you what is open.
Openings come up through the season, so the simplest route is the request form above, or a call to 270-646-2223. Tell us your boat’s length, the type of slip you would like and your preferred start date. Our boat slips page has the details, and the contact page has the 2026 hours.
The marina opens in mid April, when the first slip holders bring their boats back to the water and the store restocks for the year. Summer brings the longest days, holiday weekends and busy coves. By early fall the lake quiets down, the mornings cool off and the fishing picks up. The marina closes for the season in mid October, and the office keeps taking calls through the winter for anyone planning ahead.
While you are here, stop by the fuel dock and the marina store. Both sit right on the water.
If you have just bought your first boat, a slip at a marina where people know the water is a good place to start. Ask the staff about the lake, the best coves for a first outing and the fuel dock routine. Nobody minds questions here.
